Background
Southern Sudan is a highly underdeveloped telecoms market that is
growing fast from a low base. Mobiles per 1,000 people are estimated
at around 40 (Uganda: 67.2 mobiles per 1,000 people; Kenya 177.4
mobiles per 1,000 people) up from minimal coverage at the signing of
the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005.
NSS is regulated by the Government of South Sudan’s Ministry of
Telecommunications and Postal Services and adheres to Zain’s internal
standards.
